This time another sample I’ve got from a friend:
- Talisker Dark Storm (45,8%)
Sweet (light) smoke in the attack. Some winey cherry notes as well. Spicy notes follow with some woody notes. Leather notes as well. Similar to the Benromach Wood Finishes (Hermitage and Sassicaia).
Spicy (pepper) attack. Quite an oily texture (thick legs in the glass as well). Sweet liquorice with hints of salt.
A bit too short finish. Smooth but somewhat oily finish with liquorice and anise notes in the end.
Not bad, but also not really complex and not that outspoken. Has quite some similarities with the Benromach Wood Finishes for me.
