This is the second review of two batches of Aberlour’s best value for money dram I’ve reviewed:

  • A’Bunadh Batch #54 (60.7%)
This bottle was released in 2015 for approx. 60 euro’s. I’ve tasted a sample of this batch.

Color

Chestnutoloroso sherry

Nose

Powerfull nose, dried fruits, typical sherry. Spices (cinnamon, nutmeg). Some softer fruits as well (apricots).

Taste

Lovely sweet attack, followed by some heat (lots of spices, nutmeg, pepper, cinnamon, cloves). Mouthwarming. Some toffee, caramel and dark chocolate notes coming through as well. The typical sherry notes are there.

Finish

Medium to long finish. Little dry but a very nice balanced sweet and spices.

Comments

Good dynamics in nose and taste. The usual quality we can expect from the A’Bunadh. Very nice balance and a again good batch!

Slightly less then batch #53 but hard to say with only a sample.

Score = 87-88/100
